My project for this week

My project for this week is to quilt this UFO from 2009...yes, it's 10 years old...it's time, don't you think?
The quilting was started at one time but then I put it away...no idea why.
It really shouldn't take me too long to finish it now that it's out where I can work on it as I have a moment.
These scrappy blocks are done. I made 56 so that my quilt will be 7 blocks wide and 8 long. I'm still deciding how to set them...maybe with a very small white sashing.
My other project is REALLY coming along! We have insulation done, the well is in and drywall has been delivered. The weather has really been nice this week. Last week we had a bunch of rainy, cold days but now it's back to the low 80's...so nice!

Al and I added some blocking in the walls where floating shelves will be going and where heavy pictures will be hung. There are so many little things that have to be taken care of everyday. We're trying to do as much as we can in between scheduled workers. I'm hoping to take lots of wall pictures before the drywall is hung so we know where plumbing and wires are before we start trimming and hanging cabinets.

But everything will be put on hold tomorrow because it's grandson day💙...we'll be playing with this guy and his brother....my favorite day of the week!

July is blue

Blue blocks are being stitched up...

Lots of blue blocks!
Cherry Festival is happening downtown....crowds, congestion, traffic...so I'm happily staying home and sewing.

I also have this top ready for quilting...and it just so happens that it is the UFO of the month for July...perfect! I should have this months projects wrapped up quickly.

And this is much better that carnival lights...I may just stay home all month :)

Finished another scrappy spool block

This blog post is kind of an experiment...
I'm trying to see if I can post from my phone.

I finished making my scrappy blocks and this red spools
block was the final one for this month. Now that it's done I can get to work on this months UFO. Below are some of the scrappy blocks...purple for January, aqua for February and red for March.

The UFO is number 5 and on my list and it's a 30s reproduction
quilt that I started about a year ago to use up scraps. As is usually the case, it didn't make a dent in the pile😩 I could probably make a dozen more... I'll post a picture of it when I get it taped to my floor for basting.

Another UFO that needed to be quilted finally moved to the top of my list. I need to pin baste my UFO of the month but this Scrappy Trip Around The World was hogging all my pins....so I'm quilting this so that I can pin the other...
