May's scrap color is GREEN

Since May's color is green, that's the scrap bin I'm digging through. I'm amazed to see that I don't really have a lot of the same type of green and almost no true "crayola" green. So all the scraps were sorted into yellow-green, bright green, dusty green.. etc....
I was able to make a nice set of these blocks below...my "no name" blocks.

Finished up with the May blocks making 2 green spools, one scrap jar star and a bunch of the other little blocks.

There are 5 scrap jar stars so far

.....and 27 of the no names...

....10 of the spools... So it feels like progress on getting rid of scraps.

These Kaffe scrappy bear paws are done and are getting stitched into a top.
I think I've decided on backing and binding....maybe...

And this months UFO is #11 which is Lisa and Dustin's wedding quilt! That needs to be done by mid June so PERFECT! Don't ask about the last two months UFOs...just don't ask....

What cheerful Bear Paws! Love them! My favorite greens are the spring and lime greens but all my scraps seem to be in the dark or avocado range. Obviously I need to cut into the brighter shades and make some scraps for next time!

Those spools are using up tons of strings. What a fun project!

I'm not a big fan of Kaffe fabrics, but I absolutely LOVE your Bear's Paw blocks!! The scrappy Spools on black are striking, too. Nice progress this week!!

I love all your blocks a lot. The no-names and the spools (I may do those next year) are fantastic. What is the size of your spool blocks? I've just (finally) fallen in love with and begun collecting Kaffe fabrics. I'll have to remember those gorgeous bear paws once I have scraps! What a beautiful, colorful post!

You have really done a lot with your blocks. The no names are my favorite, especially, when, they are joined. Goo duck with the wedding quilt. Have a fun week!

The spools are 12" finish. I cut the strips random widths, 7-1/2" long...stitch them together for a 8-1/2" high "thread" .

I found a container of darker greens but decided to save those for a Tree of Life quilt....always planning the "next" quilt.

They are...BUT not enough. I have SO many scraps! I'm thrilled you have this challenge going. It's starting to make a small dent. I'll have to join in again next year and the year after.....
