Getting my fabric fix today at a great shop on Pine Ridge in Naples called Flash Quilt and Sew. really enjoyed my time there... Nice people, great fabric choices.
Here's Al patiently waiting for me to get my purchases rung up...they need a club for all these wonderful husbands of quilters.
This is some of the fabrics I bought at the first shop.... The Kaffe was 1/2 off! Got enough for a back. The gray is a batik....hard to find really light batik backgrounds and then in a nice gray plus a good design. Thrilled with this!
Found some pretty blue and white, some little 30's pieces, a little Minick and Simson on clearance and finally a snap bag kit with more Minick and Simpson...half off! Also bought some paper piecing hexies....forgot my hand sewing at home. I've been going through withdrawals for the past week. This will give me some hand sewing to do on our way home to Michigan.
Tomorrow we start the trip home. I'm excited to get back to my sewing room but not to the snow and cold. It's 80+ degrees here... and about 8 at home....brrrrrr.

Bless the husbands for waiting patiently (or not so) while we search out quilt shops! On vacation in New Hampshire we stopped at one that had a great porch with rocking chairs for the guys! When we were done, there they were rocking away!
We have one in charlevoix mi that has a nice covered porch for the guys... No rocking chairs.. But does have magazines for them to read while they wait. I think the best shop would have a sports/coffee shop attached. Maybe even some recliners with a big screen tv.
Do you live in Charlevoix? My Great Grandmother used to own a hotel there and my mom and aunt spent every summer there!
We do...it's our favorite place to be....even in the winter.
Me go, what hotel did they own?
Our husband are so wonderful when we go to quilt shops. Gregg even helps me pick out fabrics.
Looks like a great shop, love that fabric, whatcha gonna make with it?
Rebecca, I think the blue and white fabrics will be for my bedroom... pillows, quilts, etc. The Kaffe will be a backing for a Kaffe quilt. The gray is a background for a quilt using lots of bright batiks. The minick and simpson fabrics will go into my stash... I used some of them to make hexagon flowers for Jennifer. And the 30's fabrics go into my Farmer's Wife quilt. Lots of fun projects going on at once (as usual).
I'm new to your site and was wondering what ever happened to your Civil War/1800's quilt top. I saw it posted on another site. I'd love to know where you got the pattern.
